Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is an important transportation hub in Hong Kong, one of the busiest passenger airports in the world, and the busiest cargo airport in the world, connecting many parts of Asia and the world. In order to meet the long-term air traffic demand, Hong Kong International Airport is currently building a new three-runway system. The scale of the three-runway system should not be underestimated, which is equivalent to building a new airport next to the existing airport.
The three-runway system project started in August 2016. With the completion of land reclamation and runway paving, the new runway will be put into operation in 2022 as scheduled. Other projects, including the expansion of Terminal 2, the construction of a new passenger concourse, the people rapid transit system and the baggage handling system, will be completed in 2024.
On March 9, 2023, Caledonian received the notice of winning the bid for the APM system of this project issued by China Railway Electrification Group (Hong Kong) Limited. Caledonian will provide instrumentation cables worth HKD 10,000,000 for HKIA.
